Giorgi Nikoladze (1888 - 1931)
Professor of Tbilisi University, one of the greatest representatives of the
Georgian School of Mathematics, organizer of non-ferrous alloys' industry;
He was an initiator and active developer of Georgian technical, mathematical
and sports terminology.
Nikoladze founded a sports society "Shevardeni", that later transformed
into a mass sports movement; Nikoladze was the founder and the permanent chief
of the tourism and alpinism department at the Georgian Geographic society.
Zestaphoni Factory of non-ferrous alloys was named after him; also the
highest pick in Pamir on the Shakhdar range.
